I'll try for a better photo later, but I was feeling a bit philosophical and introspective while riding the bus to pick up my kids earlier tonight.  This is a self portrait, taken with my camera phone, of my reflection looking at highway traffic zooming by my bus window.

Panning exercise

I picked up this panning photo at last Friday's meeting. The lighting was not enough to freeze the action. Using flash would greatly affect the candid moment especially when shooting kids.

The photo was not very sharp but it emphasized the subject more because of the panning effect. Thanks to Jennifer's daughter as a volunteering server for the cake.

A little abstract won't hurt you in life. Learn to look at the world at a different perspective. And actually, it is not all abstract all the time. It can also be used in documentary, journalistic photography.
